Identify What Your Customers Want

“Why should I buy your product?”
“Why should I use your service?”
“What’s in it for me?”

That’s what your customers (and potential customers) are really asking.
Do you know what to tell them? You might.
But, do you know how to tell them?

In a day and age where every business has plenty of competition, it’s imperative you know how to answer this question. If you don’t, your existing and potential customers will take their business elsewhere.

Sorry, but it’s not enough to tell them they should buy from you because you’re the cheapest in town, or because your product is green and the competition’s is purple. It’s not enough to tell them, “Buy from me because my new Hummer needs gas,” or “Buy from me because my kid needs braces.” Blah, blah, blah…

Who cares? Your customers don’t. They only want to know what’s in it for them. And, while that may seem a bit harsh, it’s just human nature.

People buy products and services for self-serving reasons. They buy for emotional reasons. Can you identify what your customers want? Can you tap into that emotion?

Maybe you can. But consider this: you may be too emotionally tied to what you’re selling and how you sell it to be effective. Your emotional attachment may be blinding you to how your customers see it: the “What’s in it for me?”

You must show the benefits of what you’re selling. And how is that best done? Through powerful and persuasive words used in a crisp and clear, reader-friendly way that cut through the fluff and your own emotional attachment – that gets your business noticed and gives it the competitive edge that is so important in today’s market.

Sure, you can probably write your own copy. But when you want – NEED – to achieve results, turn to a professional business writer (also known as a copywriter). A copywriter works with words and language on a daily basis and knows how to utilize the rules of writing and marketing to get your message across best. They can inform, teach, or entertain your customers as they persuasively sell what you have to offer.

Which leaves you to attend to more important things — like getting your kid those braces.

If you would like to sell more, gain more customers, and make your business stand out from the ever-growing crowd, all while using your time more effectively, then a copywriter can really help your bottom line.
